The mortgage company didn't bother to get their ducks in a row...then on top of that, because the countertop needs to be replaced due to damage the sink people caused, and because they pulled off the old countertop before getting the new one in, the house is considered incomplete by the mortage folks and they won't close it. The last we heard was the countertop will not be finished until Wed (tomorrow) and then it'll be like 24 hours after that before we can close...then another 24 hours before we can get our keys.
So if everything else goes totally smoothly from here on out, we'll get our keys on Friday. But the chances of everything going smoothly, based on what's happened with the mortgage folk thusfar, is pretty far out there.
So, reasonably speaking, I don't expect we'll have the keys until mid-next week.
Needless to say, neither Bryony or I are very happy about it. But we're trying to be patient and not stress.
It'll happen eventually.
