Here's our back yard:
For any of you wondering why we chose this lot...this is just to the left of our backyard:
As you can see...the yards and whatnot below there are pretty finalized and this view should remain for the foreseeable future.
Directly across the street from us there's a street light. We opted, accordingly, to not put extra lighting on the front of our home.
Eventually, the lots across there will have homes on them.
Okay...as for the fittings. Here are our kitchen choices:

We opted for alder cabinets (they didn't have cherry) in the darkest stain they had. We went with a vinyl floor...and we're glad we did after having to be so careful with Henri on mom and dad Wise's wood floors (not to mention water spills and stuff). The laminate counter top (the blackish square) and carpet choices were both in the cheapest options, but we chose the darkest tan they had for the carpet and the darkest counter top they had called 'rustic slate.' The little orangish square is the color we intend to paint the wall in the kitchen. You can't really see it but there are some streaks through the dark counter top and the orange paint matches those streaks really well. Actually, this picture (taken with a cell phone) doesn't really do any of this justice.
Here's the double oven we'll have. Yes, that's right. A double oven. We'll use it once a year...maybe.

In the bathroom we're doing all oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Here's an example of what they'll look like:

The same dark alder cabinets will be used in the bathroom and we're using the same counter tops as well.
We're also doing dark (painted bronze) fixtures and whatnot through the house...as seen in the doorknob example we chose (we went with the flatter looking one.)

We're also putting in a short rail in place of the pony wall where the stairs to the basement goes:

As a tribute to Danae, we went with beaded board doors through the house.

Here are our exterior choices:

They're a bit hard to see and understand. The brick's obvious. The door's pretty obvious. The small oval is our garage color. The little square tab is the gutters and whatnot. The darker of the two stucco colors is the primary color of the top half of the home and the lighter stucco is the highlight trim. The window frame on the left is the window trim color.
